Private Label Right (PLR) Doesn't Mean Automatic Profits

automatic.jpgPrivate Label Right (PLR) has been pretty popular these days, and some marketers mistaken it for automatic profits. They think the idea of PLR is that every effort has already been made on their behalf and all they have to do, after the purchase of such rights, is to sit back and watch their bank accounts grow.

That's far from the truth.

Let's use real estates as an analogy. In real estates it's pretty common to purchase a house, revamp it and sell for a much higher price. PLR is such a house before renovation. It's rare so see someone acquire a piece of "run-down" housing (the reality is that most PLR products are less than satisfactory) and turn it for a profit immediately. You gotta work on it to increase its (perceived) value. Simple operations such as changing the carpet, curtains, furniture can often boost the final price considerably. And the same applies to PLR.

Design a much better cover, re-arrange the layout of sales letter, changing fonts, slap on a better header graphics… These are the  bare minimum you ought to do in order to achieve a good conversion rate and make a healthy profit. More importantly, give the product a more attractive name (it's suprising how few marketers bother to do this) and improve the sales copy as well as the email sequence. It's simply not a wise business decision to sell practically the same product while positioning (what the sales copy does) it just like twenty others.

PLR, if used right, can significantly cut down your cost and time to build a profitable business online, but it does involve a lot of work, unlike what most of the PLR product sellers try to convince you.
